Frequently Asked Questions.

Here are answers to some of the questions I’m often asked:

  • Should I make an appointment?
    Appointments are recommended, particularly at weekends and for colouring or highlights. If you’re passing, do drop in, though.
  • How long do appointments usually take?
    It varies depending upon the task being undertaken, the length and the thickness of the hair. A wash, cut and blow-dry usually takes 1 hour and for men 45 minutes.
  • Are there any discounts for adults, children or students?
    Student discount: 15%, student id required / Children under sixteen 20%. New client to John Cuts Hair, first visit 20%.
  • Should I have a skin test/patch test before a colouring treatment?
    A skin test is required for all colours 48 hours before your appointment if you are a new client, or have not visited in the last 6 months.
  • What exactly is a treatment?
    A treatment is a deep mask that penetrates the hair. It is used to restore its internal strength and/or rebalance moisture content.
